About The Position

Waynesburg Animal Hospital is seeking a caring, energetic Veterinary Assistant / Kennel Attendant who enjoys working with animals and their owners. This role involves caring for hospitalized pets, supporting the veterinary team, and maintaining a clean, stocked, comfortable, and welcoming hospital environment. The position offers a varied role with opportunities to learn about veterinary patient care and post-operative monitoring in a busy hospital setting where no two days are the same.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive daily care for animal patients throughout the hospital.
• Feed, water, exercise, and monitor pets as needed and appropriate.
• Clean and maintain cages, kennels, and litter boxes.
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, odor-free kennel environment.
• Assist veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and front desk team members in an organized and efficient manner.
• Learn about post-operative patient care and monitoring.
• Keep hospital areas stocked with necessary animal-care supplies.
• Complete laundry and keep sink and bathroom areas clean and tidy.
• Complete end-of-day cleaning tasks throughout the hospital.
• Help keep the hospital grounds clean and assist with flowers and hospital décor.
• Interact with clients in a kind, compassionate, and professional manner.
• Jump in wherever needed to help keep daily hospital operations running smoothly.
