About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Rockville, MD is hiring for a compassionate and skilled Oncology Veterinary Assistant! This role involves assisting Technicians and Doctors in monitoring patients during treatment, preparing materials for chemotherapy administration, restraining patients, dispensing and administering chemotherapy agents, preparing patients for IV catheter placement, and maintaining the cleanliness of appointment rooms. Requirements

• Compassionate and skilled
• Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Technicians and Doctors monitoring patient during treatment.
• Set up appropriate materials for chemotherapy administration.
• Help restrain patients during appointments and treatment.
• Safely dispense, reconstitute, and administered SQ/IM chemotherapy agents.
• Properly wrap and shave for an IV catheter for chemotherapy infusion.
• Help stock and clean appointment room.
