About The Position
VCA Mueller Pet Medical Center is adding an experienced Veterinary Assistant to our ICU/Treatment Team. This role involves working with critically ill patients and supporting the veterinary team in providing advanced medical care.
Requirements
- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Experience working in an ICU or critical care setting.
- Ability to monitor patient vital signs and report changes.
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with the latest technology and programs in veterinary medicine.
- Familiarity with VCA Next.
- Experience with Low-Stress Handling, Fear Free, or AAFP Cat-Friendly certifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Assist the veterinary team with treatments and procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report changes.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed.
- Maintain a clean and organized ICU environment.
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and other team members.
- Document patient care and observations accurately.
