About The Position

Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists is seeking a detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our growing ER Team! This role is ideal for someone looking to advance their patient care and expertise, expand their knowledge and skillset, and work with a variety of cases in a 24/7 Specialty and Emergency hospital. The hospital is staffed with experienced veterinarians, highly skilled RVTs, and well-trained veterinary assistants. New team members are supported through a mentorship program before working independently. The company emphasizes a positive attitude, strong communication, excellent work ethic, and the ability to think on your feet. Requirements

• 1-2 years working in surgery preferred, but not required
• Must be self-motivated
• Able to think on your feet
• Positive attitude
• Great communicator
• Excellent work ethic

Responsibilities

• Patient assessment, and husbandry
• Client communication
• Collecting patient histories & thorough physical exams
• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Providing compassionate care for all patients
