About The Position

Companions Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant / Client Care Representative who enjoys both hands-on patient care and working with people. This role offers variety, keeping the individual busy and comfortable moving between medical and client care teams. Responsibilities can range from assisting with appointments and treatments to helping clients, answering phones, and managing the schedule. The hospital is a three-doctor, AAHA-accredited practice focused on exceptional medicine, service, and continued learning. The team is described as hardworking, supportive, and enjoying collaboration. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with no nights or weekends.

Requirements

Previous veterinary experience preferred
1+ years of Veterinary Assistant or customer service experience preferred
Comfortable working with both pets and people
Strong communication and customer service skills
Organized, dependable and detail-oriented
Able to multitask in a busy environment
Positive, team-oriented and eager to learn and offer solutions

Nice To Haves

Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry and pharmacy is a plus, but you do not need to be an expert in every area.

Responsibilities

Welcome clients, answer phones and schedule appointments
Assist with check-in, discharge, invoicing and payments
Help manage client communication, appointment flow and schedule openings
Maintain accurate medical records
Assist veterinarians and technicians with appointments, treatments and procedures
Obtain histories, vital signs and patient information
Assist with patient handling, sample collection, radiology, pharmacy, surgery and dentistry
Perform skills such as venipuncture and catheter placement based on experience
Jump in where needed to support patients, clients and teammates
