The Animal Foundation is seeking motivated Shelter Medicine Veterinarians to provide care for shelter and/or client-owned animals. The role includes shelter medicine, surgery, spay/neuter procedures, and disease-control protocols. Depending on the position and the veterinarian’s interests and experience, the work may emphasize high-volume spay/neuter surgery or shelter medicine and herd health. The veterinarian works with licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants in a clinic equipped with three surgical suites, ultrasound, digital radiography, in-house blood work, and referral options for advanced cases. The organization is an open-admission shelter that cares for animals regardless of health, temperament, age, or species, and practices the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare and Fear Free Sheltering. The organization welcomes both new graduates seeking to develop shelter-medicine knowledge and experienced practitioners who can share their expertise.
