About The Position

PRCKC is seeking a compassionate, adaptable Veterinarian (DVM) to join their team. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys variety, values mission-driven work, and thrives in a collaborative, high-impact environment. Veterinarians rotate through multiple service areas, including wellness, high-quality high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN), dentals, urgent care, and mobile outreach, allowing for professional growth, skill diversification, and meaningful community impact. The role offers variety in practice, mission-driven impact by serving underserved communities and reducing barriers to care, a collaborative team-based culture with strong technician and support staff, and growth opportunities in surgery, dentals, and community medicine. Flexible scheduling options are also available.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited veterinary school
  • Current Missouri veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical veterinary experience
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, high-volume care models
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to access-to-care veterinary medicine
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced nonprofit environment

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in high-volume spay/neuter, shelter medicine, or nonprofit veterinary practice strongly preferred
  • Spay/neuter experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical care across service areas, including: Wellness and preventive care, Spay/neuter surgery (HQHVSN model), Dental procedures, Urgent care services, Mobile clinic services in the community
  • Rotate between departments based on organizational needs and individual skillset
  • Perform physical exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, and client education
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow
  • Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented culture
  • Uphold PRCKC’s mission of accessible, judgment-free care
