About The Position

Lakewood Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinarian to join their team in Morris, IL. Requirements

DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
Licensed (or able to be licensed) in Illinois

Nice To Haves

Experience with exotic small mammals and reptile patients is a plus, but not required.
Willingness to see exotic patients is welcome, but preference to only work with dogs and cats is also accepted.

Responsibilities

Provide primary veterinary care to companion animals, primarily dogs and cats.
Optionally see exotic small mammals and reptile patients, including work with wildlife turtles.
Delegate tasks to support staff, including certified veterinary technicians.
Collaborate with the team on treatment plans and practice improvements.
Participate in daily team huddles to maintain open communication and focus on shared goals.
Maintain a calm and low-stress approach to patient handling and client discussions.
Ensure patients, clients, and the team have a positive experience.
Adhere to a culture of taking lunch breaks and leaving on time.
