About The Position

We are looking for a small‑animal Veterinarian who is personable, collaborative, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate thrives in a team‑oriented environment and values strong client communication and high‑quality medicine. We are looking for a veterinarian who is experienced with soft tissue surgery and dental work. Our Family Vet – Jacksonville is part of a three‑building hospital group serving the community since 1984. At this location, we provide comprehensive small‑animal services, including: Wellness and preventive care, Nutritional counseling, Diagnostics, Surgery and dental care, End‑of‑life care. Our hospital is equipped to support high‑quality medicine and a smooth workflow for both doctors and support staff.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
• Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
• Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
• Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Nice To Haves

• Experienced with soft tissue surgery and dental work

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
• Treat and dress wounds
• Perform surgery on animals
• Test for and vaccinate against diseases
• Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
• Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
• Prescribe medication
• Work closely in collaboration with Team Members to provide high quality care
