Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution
- Active or eligible New Mexico veterinary license
- DEA license or ability to obtain one
- Strong diagnostic, clinical, and surgical skills
- Excellent communication and client-relations skills
- Compassionate, team-oriented, and committed to high-quality patient care
Nice To Haves
- Experience in small animal medicine and surgery preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and wellness visits for small animals
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
- Perform surgical procedures including spays, neuters, and soft tissue surgeries
- Interpret diagnostic results including bloodwork, radiographs, and urinalysis
- Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records using practice management software
