About The Position
Milwood Animal Clinic in Portage, Michigan, is seeking a veterinarian to join its supportive team as either Chief of Staff or an associate. Doctors interested in leadership may guide the clinic’s medical direction and lead its experienced team as Chief of Staff. The clinic treats small animals and offers a strong surgical caseload, with opportunities to develop surgical skills and either focus a schedule exclusively on surgery or combine surgery with appointments. Veterinarians experienced in treating exotic animals can work with a support team trained in exotic pet handling and nursing care. The updated hospital has advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment. The clinic encourages veterinarians to develop individual areas of professional interest and provides a supportive environment for building confidence and clinical skills. The team has a 5:1 staff-to-doctor ratio, including four LVTs and an experienced veterinary team. Scheduling is flexible and can be tailored to professional interests. There are no weekend or on-call requirements, and a local emergency hospital provides evening and weekend emergency coverage. The position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including a signing bonus of up to $60,000, four weeks of paid time off each year, and continuing education support. Milwood Animal Clinic is located in Portage, Michigan, halfway between Chicago and Detroit, with local parks and amenities and Lake Michigan a short drive away.
