About The Position
CareVet of Belton is seeking a veterinarian with strong surgical skills or interest to join their dedicated team. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work for the community, communicate well with clients, and enjoy being part of a team. This practice handles a wide range of care and surgical cases in-house, featuring separate entrances for dogs and cats to create a calm environment. The facility is equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment technologies, including digital radiography, cold therapy laser, surgical cutting laser, ultrasound, dental equipment, lift tables, in-house Idexx lab equipment, and a full pharmacy. The role offers the opportunity to practice at a high level with a close-knit and collaborative team, alongside an established veterinarian and experienced support staff.
Requirements
- DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree, with active licensure in Missouri (or eligibility to obtain)
- Comfortable working across general practice — diagnostics, medical management, and surgery — with the confidence to make sound clinical decisions independently
- A communicator clients trust — you can explain a diagnosis clearly, have a hard conversation when needed, and leave an owner feeling heard
- Genuinely collaborative — you enjoy practicing alongside other veterinarians and value a team that pushes each other to be better
- Calm under pressure, decisive when it counts, and honest about what you don't know
- A real fondness for the work — the medicine, the animals, and the people who love them

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients across the full scope of general practice, with in-house diagnostics, radiology, and ultrasound
- Perform surgery on patients
- Manage cases from first exam through recovery, with an experienced support staff that keeps things running so you can focus on medicine
- Build genuine client relationships — explaining conditions clearly, guiding treatment decisions, and earning the kind of trust that keeps a practice thriving
- Collaborate with fellow veterinarians on complex cases — real consultation, not just parallel shifts in the same building
- Prescribe, treat, and vaccinate with the confidence that comes from having the tools and team behind you
