The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring a full-time veterinarian to support animals and the community through spay/neuter surgery, vaccine clinics, and providing care for homeless animals in our shelter. They will work with a team of veterinarians who practice a culture of mentorship, training, and support. The veterinarian reports to a supervising veterinarian and will either work at the Racine Campus or split their time between the Racine Campus and the Kenosha Campus, depending on experience and organizational needs. Veterinarians at WHS receive an AVMA membership and funding for liability insurance and continuing education (CE). WHS is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is the oldest and largest shelter in Wisconsin, founded in 1879. It operates shelters in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Door, Brown, and Kenosha Counties, a Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis, and a wildlife rehabilitation center in Milwaukee. The organization offers adoption services, youth programs, low-cost veterinary resources, retail stores, volunteer programs, dog training classes, and more.
