About The Position

Alamogordo Animal Hospital is a well-established, full-service small-animal hospital serving the southern New Mexico community. The clinic's philosophy emphasizes teamwork, clinical growth, and empowering veterinarians with autonomy, supported by dependable operational and technical assistance. The Medical Director role involves practicing exceptional medicine and surgery with the full support of the medical systems and a dedicated team of skilled technicians, CSRs, and strong leadership. The practice focuses on wellness, preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics, and soft tissue surgery, utilizing modern technology such as digital radiography, a dental suite, an in-house pharmacy, and surgical support systems. The team culture is collaborative, supportive, fun-loving, learning-focused, and drama-free. The ideal candidate is a veterinarian passionate about patient care and long-term client relationships, a collaborative teammate thriving in a positive culture, and a committed, detailed, driven, and knowledgeable leader with strong interpersonal skills and expertise in medical and surgical procedures, particularly soft tissue.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited university
  • Compassionate, client-centered approach to care
  • Strong communication and client-education skills
  • Strong medical and surgical knowledge, particularly in soft tissue procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Experience developing medically driven protocols and SOPs
