Veterinarian - Medical Director
About The Position
American Animal Hospital is a long-standing general practice with deep ties to the community, located in beautiful San Diego, California. Our goal is to provide compassionate and quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family. We are looking for a Veterinary Medical Director to lead our passionate team. The clinic is a general practice with an average daily patient volume of 16-20 pets per day. The case mix includes wellness, sick pets, surgery, and dentistry. The practice utilizes technology such as digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house labs, and a dental machine. The team culture is described as collaborative and efficient.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
- Active licensure without restrictions in state of practice.
- Active DEA Registration for responsible practice location(s).
- Any required state-controlled substance, pharmacy or other licenses and/or registrations as required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a practicing Veterinarian.
- Commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience leading a veterinary team and/or multi-unit experience.
- Strong Surgical Skill.
- Desire to mentor.
