About The Position
Constellation Health Services’ Hospice Program is seeking military veterans to serve as Veteran Volunteers. These volunteers will present a blanket and certificate to the veterans they visit. Veterans have a unique ability to connect with fellow veterans through shared experience, understanding, and respect. Your presence can offer comfort, companionship, and dignity to patients and families during an important time in their lives. Your experience, compassion, and service can bring comfort to veterans and families in our care.
Requirements
- Must be a Retired Military Veteran.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to commit for one year to the program.
- Completed application.
- Approximately 20 hours of online training (focusing on safety, confidentiality, personal death awareness and hospice philosophy).
- Complete health and background checks.
- Valid Driver's License and auto insurance.
Responsibilities
- Visit veteran patients 2x a month.
- Present a blanket and certificate to the veterans visited.
- Offer comfort, companionship, and dignity to patients and families.
