About The Position

WSU Tech is seeking a dedicated, service-oriented Veteran Services Specialist to support military-connected students as they pursue educational and career goals. The specialist serves as a primary resource for veteran education benefits, guiding students through application, certification, and benefits processes while ensuring compliance with federal regulations. This is a grant-funded position with a delayed start and pay of $23.01 per hour.

Requirements

Associate degree.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Professional customer service skills and a commitment to supporting students.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree.
Experience working with veteran education benefits and student counseling within the past two years.
Familiarity with Enrollment Manager or similar veteran certification systems.

Responsibilities

Advise and support students regarding federal and institutional veteran education benefits.
Assist students with benefit applications, certifications, and eligibility requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VA educational programs and compliance regulations.
Process veteran education records accurately and in a timely manner.
Coordinate attendance reporting and communicate with faculty and academic leadership as needed.
Maintain student records within the College's ERP system.
Communicate veteran benefit policies and procedures to internal and external stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the student experience.
Collaborate with Student Services and assist other areas when needed.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
