About The Position
WSU Tech is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Veteran Services Specialist to support military-connected students as they pursue their educational and career goals. In this role, you will serve as a primary resource for veteran education benefits, guiding students through the application, certification, and benefits processes while ensuring compliance with federal regulations. This is a grant-funded position and has a delay start. Pay: $23.01 per hour. Requirements
- Associate degree.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Professional customer service skills and a commitment to supporting students.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working with veteran education benefits and student counseling within the past two years.
- Familiarity with Enrollment Manager or similar veteran certification systems.
Responsibilities
- Advise and support students regarding federal and institutional veteran education benefits.
- Assist students with benefit applications, certifications, and eligibility requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VA educational programs and compliance regulations.
- Process veteran education records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate attendance reporting and communicate with faculty and academic leadership as needed.
- Maintain student records within the College's ERP system.
- Communicate veteran benefit policies and procedures to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the student experience.
- Collaborate with Student Services and assist other areas when needed.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
