The Vet Assistant is responsible for greeting clients and patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and maintaining an efficient workflow through effective communication. This role involves demonstrating technical knowledge of products, assisting with patient care and surgical preparation, maintaining surgical instruments, and ensuring the clinic is clean and organized. The Vet Assistant also administers medications and treatments under supervision, collects patient history, follows safety protocols, trains new staff and volunteers, and performs preliminary animal evaluations. Additionally, they assist with exams for animals in foster care and support the euthanasia technician as needed.
