About The Position

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Verification Engineer to join its growing manufacturing team. This role is crucial for ensuring the required quality performance of trucks at the end of the production line. The Verification Engineer will collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and manufacturing teams to drive technical execution and build data-driven, repeatable verification processes. This position involves hands-on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs across electrical, software, and mechanical systems to identify root causes for fleet-wide issues. The engineer will also design, implement, and communicate corrective and preventive measures, drive engineering verification programs using rigorous analysis tools, and evaluate hardware quality. Additionally, the role includes participating in the integration lifecycle (bring-up, validation, sign-off) and providing Design-For-Manufacturing and Design-For-Test feedback to ensure new platforms are built for quality and scale.

Requirements

• Strong technical background.
• BS or MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 6+ years of experience in the autonomous vehicle, automotive, or a related industry
• Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills; you are energized by complex, multi-disciplinary integration challenges
• Hands-on. You are equally comfortable with a wrench and a keyboard.
• Confident with automotive electronics and familiar with communication protocols and tools such as Ethernet and CAN
• Proven ability to drive testing through development, execution, analysis, corrective actions, and final report-outs across all stages of product development

• You write clear, concise, and detailed technical documentation, and are skilled at leading and participating in cross-functional design and integration reviews

Responsibilities

• Work internally within Kodiak with engineering and our external manufacturing partners to build data driven, repeatable verification processes
• Conduct build-based troubleshooting and debugging to isolate hardware and SW failures within specific subsystems
• Design, implement and communicate proactive corrective and preventive measures addressing primary failure modes
• Perform hands-on diagnostics and repairs across electrical, software, and mechanical systems to identify root causes for fleet-wide issues
• Drive engineering verification programs by utilizing rigorous analysis tools and principles to meet established performance standards
• Evaluate hardware quality and provide critical feedback to resolve assembly or manufacturing discrepancies
• Validate technical documentation including schematics, build procedures, and incoming quality control protocols
• Participate to integration lifecycle: especially bring-up, validation, and sign-off
• Participate to cross-functional build and integration events with Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Systems teams as well as Design-For-Manufacturing and Design-For-Test feedback to ensure new platforms are built for quality and scale
