We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Venue Technology Manager, with extensive experience managing technology for large-scale events. The On-site Technology Management Team will be crucial in successfully executing the Official Hospitality Program for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This role will manage, supervise, and coordinate all activities of the Onsite Technology Functional Area. This includes managing personnel to design, configure, and implement hardware and software systems, as well as deploying and collecting computer hardware and software operating systems. This position reports to the Director of Event Technology. Act as the primary onsite point of contact for all technology vendors contracted with On Location. Manage Venue Technology Managers across a cluster of venues. Work with the Venue Technology Managers in the overall planning, design, delivery, implementation, testing, operation, decommissioning, and reinstatement of all technology services and solutions required at their assigned competition or non-competition venue(s). Contribute to the detailed venue project planning process for your venue(s), ensuring that the technical and operational spaces, power, network, and equipment required by Technology are incorporated into the planning and execution of the technology needs of our Hospitality Venue Management teams and other FAs. Develop the overall strategy for venue operations technology, incorporating access control, production, audio/visual, and network infrastructure, to deliver a fantastic experience for our guests. Confirm vendor load-in/load-out activities align with event schedules and operational windows. Ensure vendor deliverables are executed per approved Statements of Work (SOWs). Manage vendor performance in real time and escalate issues as needed. Oversee and prioritize all technology-related requests and incidents during the event. Provide hands-on, in-person troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Coordinate rapid resolution of issues impacting ticketing, Wi-Fi, office hardware, or event operations. Maintain communication with venue leadership regarding technology status and risks. Ensure all event-critical technology equipment is deployed, powered, and operational. Monitor shared or high-use equipment throughout the event. Address immediate hardware failures or replacements as needed. Inventory, track, and maintain all onsite technology assets. Ensure equipment is properly returned, charged, stored, and secured between events. Coordinate storage planning with the Venue Manager to maximize space efficiency. Float between high-priority and high-impact areas (e.g., FOH/BOH, control rooms, fan experience zones). Support adjacent spaces such as fan villages, temporary structures, and nearby operational offices. Conduct system checks, testing, and rehearsals ahead of upcoming events. Identify and mitigate technology risks prior to event days. Support buildouts for temporary installations, fan activations, and special events. Support access control devices as needed throughout the village and venue. Schedule and coordinate vendor work, including load-ins, testing, and system upgrades. Review and validate vendor Statements of Work (SOWs). Lead weekly vendor coordination meetings and readiness check-ins. Track deliverables, timelines, and compliance with venue standards. Manage venue technology support requests during standard operating hours. Address non-urgent incidents, root-cause analysis, and follow-up repairs. Document recurring issues and implement preventive solutions. Partner with the Venue Manager on long-term technology planning and improvements. Support IT requirements for office spaces, back-of-house areas, and venue infrastructure. Participate in post-event reviews and implement lessons learned to improve future operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of management experience in on-site/field technology support and project management, preferably in the ticket and hospitality industry with major sporting events.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technology concepts to technical and non-technical teams.
  • End-to-end understanding of how an integrated set of technologies delivers a smooth and efficient venue experience for guests and staff.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex, mission-critical technology programs and managing operations through 3rd party vendors and large organizations.
  • Sound understanding of IT and/or telecommunications, including Wi-Fi, network cabling, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in delivering production IT services within a high availability environment for successful delivery of SLA/OLAs.
  • Experience in managing third-party suppliers in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Proficient in desktop and mobile OS systems such as Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS, and Linux, including MS Office 365.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment within a high-profile international project.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English is required; proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience working in a technology role in previous medium to large-scale events such as World Cups and/or Commonwealth, Euros, and Olympic Games.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the ticketing, travel, or hospitality industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in Audio/Visual systems, configuration, and troubleshooting is preferred but not mandatory.
