About The Position

Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste. Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Ventilation Engineer and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently in the process of constructing a new nuclear grade ventilation system for the underground that more than triples the current air filtration capacity. The system is designed to dilute and remove dust and noxious gases generated from operating diesel equipment as well as generate pressure boundaries for nuclear safety to keep the site workers safe. You will play a critical part in maintaining this new system that will provide the needed airflow to the equipment operations 2,150 feet below the surface.
