About The Position

Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a Vendor Marketing Specialist to manage our co-op and market development fund (MDF) programs. This role involves turning vendor dollars into tangible marketing activities across our branch network, acting as the liaison between manufacturer partners, branch leaders, and the marketing team. The goal is to ensure available funds are utilized effectively and claimed correctly. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys end-to-end program ownership, is proficient with spreadsheets, and can manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. The successful candidate will be organized, communicative, and driven to achieve results.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience managing MDF, co-op, or channel marketing funds, including tracking accruals, building plans against available dollars, and submitting claims with backup documentation.
  • 2 to 4 years in marketing, vendor marketing, or channel marketing within distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing.
  • Working understanding of distributor and manufacturer partnerships, including vendor programs, rebates, and joint marketing.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, with the ability to build and maintain trackers.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through skills.
  • Clear, professional communication with vendors, branch leaders, and internal teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to branches and events.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with electrical, industrial, or construction products.
  • Experience supporting a multi-branch or multi-location organization.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or email marketing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual MDF and co-op process across all vendor partners, including tracking available funds, accrual rules, submission deadlines, and claim requirements.
  • Maintain and improve the MDF tracker, encompassing branch-level allocations, vendor tabs, and leadership reporting.
  • Collaborate with branch leaders to identify eligible activities and ensure funds are committed before expiration.
  • Prepare and submit claims with necessary documentation, and track reimbursements through to payment.
  • Partner with vendors on joint marketing plans, campaigns, and promotional programs.
  • Execute vendor-funded campaigns, including email, digital, print, signage, and branded merchandise.
  • Coordinate with marketing specialists on campaign production and creative, managing vendor requirements, budget, and approvals.
  • Plan and execute vendor-supported events such as counter days, open houses, training sessions, and trade shows.
  • Report on program performance and fund utilization to marketing leadership and vendor partners.
  • Support broader marketing initiatives across the Lonestar family of companies as needed.
