About The Position

Schneider is seeking a Vendor Manager in El Monte, CA to lead a team of vendor coordinators. The Vendor Manager will oversee work related to repair decisions, cost negotiation and vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous leadership experience in a maintenance or shop environment is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize a variety of projects and tasks.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Able to travel 1-2 times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of vendor coordinator.
  • Ensure support during equipment breakdowns, including making sure drivers are safe and equipment is repaired and back in service as efficiently as possible.
  • Promote safe practices and procedures in the warehouse.
  • Monitor equipment availability and maintenance costs.
  • Negotiate labor and parts costs with vendors.
  • Work with maintenance leaders to develop business goals and budgets.
  • Work with operations leaders to understand business needs.
  • Provide direction, guidance and coaching to vendor associates.
  • Perform regular on-site visits to vendors.
