About The Position

Responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, delivery, and shipping within a vending warehouse backroom area. This role involves managing incoming freight, checking shipments, maintaining inventory, preparing stock for vending trucks, and assisting with the placement and delivery of vending machines and merchandise to various locations. The position may also require operating a vending truck and handling hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid state driver's license or a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely.
  • Must be able to pass appropriate background checks (e.g., Federal DOD Security Clearance).
  • Pass the GSA defensive driving course.
  • One year of experience providing knowledge and skill for basic retail services and selling duties.
  • One year of experience performing duties involving stocking merchandise, transfers, receiving, merchandising of product, and/or food handling processes within a retail or services environment.
  • Associate must receive Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a forklift license.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and checks incoming freight, merchandise, supplies, and/or equipment.
  • Unloads and loads vehicles, checking shipments for spoilage or damage.
  • Receives invoices and checks against reports to ensure accuracy of received items and quantities.
  • Opens, inspects, counts, marks, and prices merchandise.
  • Reports shortages, overages, spoilage, and/or damaged items to supervisor.
  • Estimates and/or monitors purchase of perishable and non-perishable merchandise and advises vendors of adjustments.
  • Receives deliveries from other NEX locations.
  • Warehouses palletized or bulk stock according to specified locations.
  • Checks bins for mixed stock or incorrect storage and notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
  • Prepares temporary or permanent storage locations for new merchandise, places stock, and arranges on shelves.
  • Pulls product and stages/loads onto vending trucks and Micro Market routes.
  • Conducts monthly inventory of merchandise and supplies, determining discrepancies and advising supervisor.
  • Assists with the loading of merchandise onto vending trucks.
  • Assists with transportation and placement of vending machines.
  • Delivers merchandise to commands, Mini Marts, and Micro Markets locations.
  • Ensures security of spaces and proper completion/verification of receiving documents.
  • Maintains responsible areas in a neat and orderly manner, observing safety and sanitary regulations.
  • May operate materials handling equipment.
  • Assists with Micro Market vending routes during demanding business needs.
  • May be required to have a valid driver's license and operate a vending truck.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
