About The Position

Bay Area News Group is looking for a part-time warehouse worker to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the inserting process for their publications is completed on a daily basis. This position will work the afternoon shift, Friday 3:30PM - 10:30PM, Saturday 3:30PM - 10:30PM, and Sunday 4:15PM - 10:00PM.

Requirements

Must be a team player with the ability to follow supervisor directions
Good communication skills
A positive, energetic personality
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous warehouse, material handling, or forklift experience preferred
Computer proficiency is a plus but not necessary
Must be available for shift work
May be required to work various hours for coverage outside of normal business hours

Responsibilities

Hand-insert free-standing inserts into the inserting machine
Use the shrink-wrap machine to wrap pallets
Operate pallet jacks or forklifts to move materials between the mailroom and the warehouse
Handle a “jogging” table to align all inserts perfectly prior to loading an inserting pocket
Work on the binder machine to load signatures
Load mail pieces into the mail machine and gather addressed pieces off the conveyor
Responsible for the daily cleanup of the mailroom
Certain positions are responsible for shipping/receiving materials
Some positions use computer software to manage shipping materials
