About The Position

TransChicago Truck Group is seeking a Vehicle Transport Driver to work with its New Truck Prep team, transferring heavy-duty trucks and chase vehicles between dealerships and customer locations. The role delivers new trucks, used trucks, and customer vehicles throughout the Chicagoland area, follows through on customer returns, and communicates damage, mechanical issues, and customer feedback to the appropriate teams. Drivers perform vehicle inspections and report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Two years of driving experience.
Minimum Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
Ability to successfully pass a DOT medical certification evaluation.
Clean DMV motor vehicle record.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Ability to work independently.
Customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
Regular, predictable, and full attendance.
Physical capability to perform the required work.

Nice To Haves

Class A license.

Responsibilities

Deliver new trucks, used trucks, and customer vehicles to locations in the Chicagoland area.
Follow through with customer returns accurately.
Communicate damage or mechanical issues to TransChicago in a timely manner.
Work with Service and Truck Sales departments to communicate customer feedback.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition.
Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, and report issues to the location manager.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.
Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to TransChicago or customer locations.
Perform other projects and tasks assigned by the supervisor.
