About The Position

The Travis Credit Union (TCU) Vehicle Servicing Specialists are a specialized team responsible for analyzing and verifying California and out-of-state DMV documentation, acting as a support unit for internal and external business partners. This team researches and processes all pending titles on vehicles/vessels used as collateral to ensure the credit union interest is secured.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2 years of previous related work experience.
  • Strong telephone communication skills.
  • Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion when reviewing appropriate exceptions to Credit Union guidelines.
  • Ability to navigate and process within multiple interdependent systems and tools.
  • Ability to analyze needs and propose solutions that drive results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Efficiently organize work priorities and accurately complete multiple tasks within strict timeframes with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking and highly skilled at researching and effectively resolving DMV issues in a timely manner.
  • Proficient mathematical and analytical skills to include calculating fees and balancing general ledger reports.
  • Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the communities served by Travis Credit Union, which include the following counties: Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo.
  • Candidates must have current authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).

Responsibilities

  • Provides support and ensures quality member service is provided at all times when communicating with members and internal/external business partners.
  • Advocates for members regarding credit and achieving their financial goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to deepen the member relationship by promoting and educating members with different options relating to their DMV loan transaction.
  • Interprets conditions and verifies that all DMV requirements have been met and stays current on all states DMV regulations.
  • Analyzes and validates supporting DMV documentation prior to the consumer loan application being processed to prevent fraud.
  • Ensures quality control by confirming the DMV documents are in compliance on all credit union and regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepares and submits appropriate title documentation necessary to secure TCU’s lien and follows-up on pending titles and DMV documentation.
  • Accurately completes weekly/monthly departmental reports ensuring all deadlines are met to include random audits focusing on risk management.
  • Identifies opportunities of improvements and changes of processes and policies to increase productivity and members’ experience.
  • Analyzes, decisions, processes ‘skip a pays’, and manually adjusts account receivables.
  • Provides assistance, direction and training to peers and internal business partners
  • Assists in all areas of Consumer Lending as needed.
