About The Position

The Vehicle Sales Representative (VSR) is the frontline Sales Agent for Vehicle Sales. The VSR must collaborate with all functional groups within the Organization, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Asset Management, to achieve sales projections and maximize proceeds while delivering exceptional customer service. This role is crucial for executing marketing plans, managing inventory, and ensuring administrative accuracy within the Used Truck Center (UTC).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in sales and/or customer service
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and advanced Internet proficiency
  • Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Goal-oriented with a high drive for results and assertiveness; deals well with ambiguity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the frontline sales representative for vehicle sales, engaging with customers in person, online, and via phone.
  • Execute the UTC's marketing plan, including product selection for publications, trade associations, and industry-specific campaigns.
  • Coordinate outbound marketing efforts such as phone calls, mailers, and thank-you cards.
  • Act as a liaison between Asset Management, Rental, and Lease product lines.
  • Maintain the accuracy and content of the Lead Tracker database to measure marketing effectiveness.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the used vehicle market and local competitors.
  • Provide coverage for the Vehicle Sales Manager (VSM) at their location and other locations as needed.
  • Structure and sell ancillary products, including Finance and Extended Warranty, to meet customer needs and company expectations.
  • Develop and expand relationships with the existing customer base through various communication channels to ensure customer retention.
  • Install sold signs and mark vehicles as directed.
  • Manage the effectiveness of the UTC website for content and data accuracy, providing feedback for development.
  • Oversee all vehicle inventory movement within the UTC's operational area, including offsite and satellite locations.
  • Maintain a key tracking system for inventory management and vehicle security.
  • Ensure vehicle quality and appearance through washing, detailing, and vehicle exercise programs.
  • Perform weekly yard checks with required documentation from off-site locations.
  • Occasionally drive trucks within UTC boundaries for inventory alignment.
  • Manage unit files and sales recording systems, including titling, licensing, and legal sale documents.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory requirements such as Sarbanes Oxley, the Safety STAR Program, and related company communications.
  • Maintain the Cash log, collect funds accurately and timely.
  • Manage the UTC supply inventory.
  • Ensure vehicle sales compliance with local, state, Federal, and other regulating agencies.
  • Assist with all aspects of the sales process to increase location sales.
  • Maximize proceeds for vehicles sold by improving retail activity.
  • Provide sales support to the VSM to maximize sale time.
  • Enhance the sales process and reach out to new and existing customers to maximize customer retention.
  • Ensure the location is Sarbanes Oxley compliant in all required areas.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment to maximize productivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
