About The Position

This role is for a Fleet Operations Data Collection project, focusing on maintaining the integrity of data collection. The primary responsibilities include manually operating a vehicle, strictly adhering to predetermined routes and collection protocols, monitoring onboard hardware (Cameras, LiDAR, and secondary sensors) through pre- and post-trip inspections, performing basic field maintenance like power-cycling systems and ensuring sensors are clean, and ensuring data is logged and uploaded correctly. The role also involves reporting any system anomalies, hardware issues, or unique environmental observations.

Requirements

Valid U.S. Driver’s License (3+ years) with a clean driving history.
Ability to maintain high levels of focus during repetitive tasks and follow complex instructions without deviation.
Comfort interacting with hardware and software.
High proficiency in Google Workspace for following and updating structured documentation.
Basic familiarity with Linux command-line (navigating directories or running provided scripts).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Strong written skills for technical logging and the ability to relay hardware issues to the engineering team.
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, or weekends.

Nice To Haves

Experience in field data collection, mapping, or fleet operations.
Background as a Field Technician, IT Support Specialist, or similar hands-on technical role.
Experience operating Electric Vehicles (EVs).

Responsibilities

Manual operation of an EV for up to 8 hours per day, strictly adhering to predetermined routes and structured collection protocols.
Comprehensive pre- and post-trip inspections of specialized onboard hardware (Cameras, LiDAR, and secondary sensors).
Basic field maintenance, including power-cycling systems, reseating data connectors, and ensuring all sensors remain clean and unobstructed.
Ensure data is logged correctly and uploaded according to project requirements.
Reporting/documentation of any system anomalies, hardware issues, or unique environmental observations.
