About The Position

This role is responsible for accurately inputting vehicle information into the AS400 computer system using a handheld computer or headset for data entry. The specialist will affix identification stickers, place work order numbers, and flag specific vehicle conditions. They will also direct transporters, report damage, take digital images, and provide windshield codes. A strong commitment to safety procedures and cooperation with safety leadership is essential. Additional duties may include assisting with driving vehicles during auction sales.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to clear a pre-employment drug test (excluding marijuana for this position).
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Input accurate vehicle information (VIN, stock number, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage, color, options) into the AS400 computer system.
  • Use a handheld computer (Portable Terminal – PT) or provide information via headset for data entry.
  • Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
  • Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.
  • Flag “no key” cars.
  • Direct transporters to proper car drop zones.
  • Report transport damage as needed.
  • Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.
  • Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person driving the vehicle through the registration/check-in area.
  • Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors.
  • Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, such as assisting on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes.
