About The Position

This position is for a Vehicle Mechanic with an evening shift. The role involves performing maintenance and repairs on diesel and gas engine vehicles, diagnosing mechanical problems, and operating necessary equipment and tools. The mechanic will also be responsible for passing required tests and training, maintaining an acceptable driving record, and operating a school bus. Knowledge of wiring diagrams and basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel) are also required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum required tools for a mechanic.
• Ability to pass alcohol and drug test.
• Acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Associates of Occupational Studies Degree in Automotive Technology.
• Valid Texas Commercial driver's license (Class A or B), with Passenger and School Bus endorsements or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Three years' experience as mechanic.
• Advance knowledge of diesel and gas engines.
• Advance knowledge on proper maintenance and repair of both diesel and gas engine vehicles.
• Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts.
• Ability to pass required bus driver safety training.
• Ability to operate a school bus.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft word and Excel spreadsheets.
