About The Position

Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Boilerroom Mechanic for the evening shift. The boiler room is maintained 24 hours a day, and this role is crucial for ensuring its continuous operation and the overall functioning of the hospital. The position involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and operational tasks related to boilers and associated equipment, as well as potentially assisting with other hospital maintenance needs.

Requirements

• Ability to work the evening shift.
• Willingness to work additional overtime if needed.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and repair of boilers and boiler room equipment.
• Ability to start and stop various pieces of equipment.
• Ability to test boiler water, add chemicals, and maintain proper limits.
• Ability to report problems to a supervisor.
• Ability to use a computer for certain jobs.
• Ability to check all mechanical rooms and rooftop AC units during the shift.
• Adherence to all policies and procedures.
• Treat everyone with respect.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Good Samaritan hospital boiler room 24 hours a day.
• Perform repair services to other areas of the hospital on an irregular basis.
• Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and repair of boilers and boiler room equipment on a daily basis.
• Start and stop various pieces of equipment.
• Operate, repair, and maintain the SSM (if required).
• Test boiler water, add chemicals as needed, and maintain proper limits.
• Perform any other assigned jobs.
• Report problems to the supervisor in a timely manner.
