About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Vehicle Mechanic to perform maintenance, repair, and modifications on FMTV 10 Ton Dump Trucks. This role is hands-on and requires experience with fabrication techniques, and a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and capable of interpreting technical drawings to complete precision modifications on various truck assemblies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with FMTV 10 Ton Dump Trucks or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency in using power tools and measuring devices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Familiarity with truck assembly or automotive chassis modification is highly desirable.
• Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• technical/vocational training in vehicle maintenance is a plus
• CDL is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Measure and mark materials for cutting or alteration using hand tools and layout instruments.
• Ensure accuracy and vehicle integrity of modifications and repairs.
• Assist in assembling, fitting, and securing steel parts in place using various means (bolts, clamps, etc.).
• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
• Communicate with supervisors and engineers regarding job progress, issues, or design changes.
