About The Position

Palisades Tahoe is hiring experienced Vehicle Mechanics for full-time, year-round positions supporting mountain operations. The role maintains and repairs a broad range of resort vehicles and equipment, including snow grooming machines, snowmobiles, lift APUs, generators, trucks, buses, trailers, and heavy and construction equipment. Work includes diagnostics and repair of vehicle electrical systems and CAN networks, T4F emission systems, hydraulic and hydrostatic systems, and two- and four-stroke engines. Positions are available on both sides of the resort and on the upper vehicle maintenance team. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The mechanic inspects equipment for safe operation, performs scheduled preventative maintenance, completes repairs in the shop and on the hill, and carries out major repairs on gasoline and diesel engines, gearboxes, drives, and transmissions. The role also involves welding and fabrication, body-part repair, work-order documentation, parts and inventory communication, shop inspections, and compliance with hazardous-material and spill-prevention requirements. The position involves indoor and outdoor work, occasional extreme weather, frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts and precarious locations, and contact with hazardous substances. Employees may also encounter heat, cold, wet conditions, noise, fumes, airborne particles, and electric-shock risk. The workplace is usually loud. Physical demands include standing or walking for 70% or more of an eight-hour shift; occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of 100 pounds or more; frequent handling of loads up to 40 pounds; climbing, walking on uneven terrain, snow, and ice; and bending, kneeling, reaching, and crawling. The base hourly pay range is $27.34–$43.01. Actual pay may vary based on factors including experience, education, training, location, merit, production, responsibilities, and travel. The company notes that compensation may also include short- and long-term incentives and region-specific benefits.
