About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician for the 1st Shift. This role is responsible for planning and performing mechanical work to overhaul and repair a variety of vehicles and equipment. The technician will follow maintenance procedures, determine operational sequences, and ensure the availability of necessary tools and equipment. The position involves installation, retrofit, maintenance, and repair of power equipment, as well as preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specifications. The technician will also collaborate with supervisors, engineers, vendors, and other trade groups on special projects and assist other trades on joint projects. Training for licenses, operator permits, and certifications may be required.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years automotive mechanic experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Taylor Dunn parts
  • Mechanical work on industrial carts and lifts
  • Electrical experience

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform mechanical work necessary to overhaul and repair a variety of vehicles and equipment powered by electrical motors and internal combustion engines.
  • Follow maintenance and repair procedures to plan and layout material requirements.
  • Determine sequence of operations and obtain tools and equipment to meet schedule requirements.
  • Follow up to ensure equipment and supplies are available when needed.
  • Perform installation, retrofit, maintenance and repair work on power equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and service according to equipment manufacturers specification and warranty conditions.
  • Work on special projects with supervisor’s engineers, vendors or other trade groups and customers to review and repair new equipment.
  • Perform similar duties throughout the facility with skill level of this job description.
  • Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities.
  • Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor.
  • May be required to train for, obtain, and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned trade specialization.
