About The Position
Dohrn Transfer is a Midwestern transportation partner offering less-than-truckload, truckload, and value-added services across a 10-state area. The family-operated company is seeking a motivated college student interested in operations, engineering, business, or transportation to join their Vehicle Maintenance team part-time. This role provides hands-on exposure to various aspects of fleet maintenance and offers valuable real-world experience within a fast-paced transportation environment.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in college pursuing a degree in business, engineering, supply chain, finance, or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and basic computer systems
- Eager to learn and take initiative
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem-solver
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and react to change productive levels
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems
- Ability to work on tasks independently or in a team environment
- Excellent attendance
- Must possess well-developed communication and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic and motivated to take initiative
- Detail oriented
- Punctual
- Teamwork/Collaboration
- Proficient in MS Suite
- Must demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities
- Assist with parts inventory, organization, and ordering processes
- Support maintenance recordkeeping and data entry
- Help track repair invoices, costs, and vendor performance
- Learn preventative maintenance scheduling and fleet compliance processes
- Assist with reporting, metrics, and department analysis projects
- Support shop operations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with maintenance leaders to understand fleet operations
- Perform other duties as needed
