About The Position

Redbook Inspect, part of carsales, is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Inspector to cover East/Southeast Melbourne. The role conducts mobile and/or fixed-site inspections for retail customers, dealers, and other business clients. Inspection types include pre-purchase, finance, dealer, and rideshare inspections. The position is described as off the tools, drawing on mechanical expertise to visually diagnose vehicles and share findings with customers. The inspector contacts customers to schedule inspections, liaises with vehicle owners, sellers, and prospective buyers, and documents inspection outcomes using a digital app. The company describes the role as keeping the inspector close to home and having standard business hours.

Requirements

• Extensive work experience as a qualified mechanic after apprenticeship accreditation.
• A current, unrestricted Victorian driver's licence.
• Willingness to undertake the Accredited Vehicle Examiners course if not already accredited.
• A proactive, can-do work ethic and results-driven mindset.
• A customer-focused approach and ability to provide an exceptional level of service.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with a large range of motor vehicles.
• Existing Accredited Vehicle Examiners accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mobile and/or fixed-site vehicle inspections across East/Southeast Melbourne.
• Complete pre-purchase, finance, dealer, and rideshare inspections for retail customers, dealers, and other business clients.
• Use mechanical expertise to visually diagnose vehicles and share findings with customers.
• Contact customers to book inspections.
• Liaise with vehicle owners, sellers, and buying customers about inspections.
• Document inspection outcomes using the company's digital app.
