About The Position

America's Auto Auction is seeking a meticulous and motivated Vehicle Inspector/Condition Report Writer to join their team. This role involves inspecting and documenting various vehicle types. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Prior experience as a rental car damage inspector, insurance appraiser/adjuster, collision/body shop estimator, auction vehicle inspector, dealership vehicle appraiser, or related inspection/appraiser experience is preferred.

Requirements

Strong written communication skills, including grammar, clarity, and attention to detail.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Able to accurately interpret inspection data, photographs, and vehicle condition checklists.
Comfortable working with reporting software, digital platforms, and inspection systems.
Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
Able to work outdoors the majority of the time in all weather conditions.
Able to pass pre-employment screening.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

Prior vehicle inspection or appraising experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle inspections and complete accurate cosmetic and mechanical condition reports.
Document and photograph vehicle details, damages, and safety concerns.
Coordinate vehicle reconditioning and repair processes.
Move and stage vehicles to support auction and sales operations.
Remove Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from vehicles.
Provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
Maintain productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
Keep work areas clean and properly maintain tools and equipment.
Follow all company safety, compliance, and confidentiality policies.
