About The Position
Naturescape of Menomonee Falls, WI, is seeking to hire a Vehicle Fleet & Small Engine Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles and a wide assortment of small-engine equipment. This role involves ensuring the uptime of a high-volume fleet across 41 locations, handling a dynamic mix of small engines (commercial mowers, blowers) and automotive vehicles (vans, pickup trucks). Responsibilities include routine maintenance, engine diagnostics, brake repairs, and annual safety inspections. The mechanic will use a tablet with custom-built asset management software to track inventory, log repairs, and manage service requests. The work environment is a fast-paced shop equipped with lifts and specialty tools, designed for high-output mechanics who take pride in a clean, organized, and productive workspace. Collaboration with a team of mechanics and a Fleet Manager is expected for problem-solving and knowledge sharing, with an emphasis on "learning by doing" and peer-to-peer collaboration.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Basic understanding of automotive and small engine mechanics (brakes, engines, and diagnostics).
- Provide your own standard set of tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Motivated with a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair fleet of vehicles and small-engine equipment.
- Ensure the uptime of a high-volume fleet across 41 locations.
- Perform routine maintenance on small engines like commercial mowers and blowers.
- Perform routine maintenance on automotive vehicles, including vans and pickup trucks.
- Handle engine diagnostics.
- Perform brake repairs.
- Conduct annual safety inspections.
- Ensure every piece of equipment is field-ready.
- Use a tablet equipped with custom-built asset management software to track inventory, log repairs, and manage incoming service requests.
- Collaborate with a team of mechanics and a Fleet Manager to solve complex problems and share technical knowledge.
