About The Position

South Shore Subaru, a member of the VIP Automotive Group, is seeking an experienced and motivated Vehicle Exchange Manager / Automotive Vehicle Acquisition Manager to lead our vehicle exchange process and help service customers explore their vehicle ownership, trade-in, purchase, and lease options. This is a customer-facing automotive dealership management opportunity for someone who understands customer service, vehicle appraisal, trade-ins, vehicle acquisition, automotive sales, customer retention, and the service drive. The Vehicle Exchange Manager will work closely with Service, Sales, Used Cars, and General Management to identify vehicle exchange opportunities and guide customers through the process from the initial conversation and appraisal through completion of the transaction.

Requirements

Prior automotive sales or retail experience required
Previous automotive dealership experience strongly preferred
Experience with vehicle appraisals and trade-ins
Ability to accurately appraise vehicles in today's automotive market
Excellent follow-up skills and strong attention to detail
Top-notch customer service skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to create and maintain strong customer relationships
Ability to develop trust and rapport with dealership guests
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple customers, appointments, and transactions
Strong outbound calling and appointment-setting skills

Experience with VinSolutions and CDK
Strong computer and data-entry skills
Ability to maintain accurate activity tracking and reporting

Responsibilities

Serve as the liaison between the customer and dealership while their vehicle is being serviced.
Discuss customers' current vehicle needs and identify alternative vehicle options, including potential new or pre-owned vehicle purchases.
Appraise eligible vehicles with the goal of acquiring the vehicle or assisting the customer with a new or pre-owned vehicle purchase or lease.
Evaluate vehicles accurately based on today's automotive market conditions.
Generate appointments through outbound customer calls and consistent follow-up.
Educate customers on the vehicle purchase, lease, trade-in, and Vehicle Exchange options available to them.
Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
Lead customers through the entire vehicle exchange process from appraisal through completion.
Introduce qualified customers to the appropriate automotive sales staff.
Lead customers through the financial paperwork process.
Follow up with customers after the exchange to ensure a positive customer experience and identify future opportunities.
Work closely with the Used Car Department to understand current inventory needs and which vehicles are needed for appraisal and acquisition.
Track all customer activity, appointments, appraisals, and opportunities in VinSolutions.
Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
Produce approximately 10 Vehicle Exchange packets per day for distribution, placement in customer vehicles, and/or mailing.
Report Vehicle Exchange activity and results directly to General Management.
Build, lead, and manage the Vehicle Exchange team.
Manage the day-to-day operations and overall activity of the Vehicle Exchange Department.
Work closely with Service, Sales, Used Cars, and Management to maximize customer retention and vehicle acquisition opportunities.
