About The Position

This position's primary responsibility is to unload and load heavy equipment being received into and shipped out of the Equipment Depot. This requires the skilled and safe operation of a high-capacity forklift to load and unload oversized loads of heavy equipment. Additionally, this position requires the skilled and safe operation of a road tractor and lowboy trailer for transporting heavy equipment and oversized loads on lengthy trips within the state. The role involves assisting other personnel in the Production Unit with equipment inspection and preparation for delivery, including installing decals, license tags, and other identification markers, as well as sorting and repacking parts and accessories. The position reports directly to the Production Unit Supervisor and is responsible for the security and condition of loads, extensive record keeping, and route planning. The role also includes helping to organize the central equipment yard, which may involve grading the yard and general housekeeping. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess necessary licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to operate a high capacity all terrain forklift.
  • Experience driving a tractor trailer type truck with lowboy trailer.
  • Working knowledge of ICC rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to service and provide minor maintenance to vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain records and reports of transportation operations.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and load heavy equipment being received into and shipped out of the Equipment Depot.

  • Maintain responsibility for the security and good condition of loads being moved.
  • Perform extensive record keeping.
  • Plan routes for deliveries.
  • Help keep the central equipment yard organized, including grading the yard and general housekeeping.
