About The Position

Daily inspects and maintains all equipment and systems to ensure the proper operation of the bio-solids process. Performs duties required to ensure that the bio-solids process in operated in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Performs monitoring and analysis as required by the NPDES permit. Interprets laboratory results and makes adjustments to equipment and bio-solids processes based on this data. Regularly performs routine and non-routine maintenance on all equipment to ensure satisfactory operation; advises supervisor of any deficiencies, non-compliance and/or malfunctioning systems affecting the bio-solids process. Coordinates the disposal of bio-solids. Participates in the department’s on-call system for proving operation and maintenance on weekends and holidays. Maintains logs and records of bio-solids operations. Performs all duties in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of quality and safety. Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests for assistance from customers and the general public regarding areas of responsibility. Attends meetings, training, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills. Considered essential employee in the event of inclement weather or emergency conditions.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license
  • Requires a CDL license.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class C wastewater treatment plan operator license within six months of employment
  • Requires over three year and up to and including five years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A Class A biological wastewater treatment operator’s license is preferred.
