Vehicle Chassis Rolls Lab. Driver/Mechanic

Stellantis•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

The Vehicle Chassis Rolls Lab Driver/Mechanic prepares vehicles for chassis rolls testing, including fueling vehicles with specified test fuels, purging evaporative canisters, and supporting Sealed Housing for Evaporative Determination (SHED) testing. The role transports vehicles by PIV between soak areas and the dynamometer cell, installs vehicles in the test cell, and connects the instrumentation and hardware required for testing. The driver operates vehicles through prescribed test cycles while meeting required driver-validity metrics, including ERR and CSI pedal metrics, to support accurate emissions sampling. The role follows established protocols and approved driving and testing methods to provide engineering teams with reliable, high-quality data on schedule. After testing and data acquisition, the driver disconnects and removes test hardware and safely moves the vehicle out of the test cell. The Driver/Mechanic keeps the test cell and its equipment clean, safe, and operational, and uses mechanical and troubleshooting skills to prepare vehicles, diagnose problems, and help resolve vehicle- and test-cell-related issues promptly.
