About The Position

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist role is responsible for acquiring additional dealership inventory by purchasing vehicles from customers. Associates provide an exceptional customer experience, manage customer expectations, and communicate throughout AutoNation’s “We’ll Buy Your Car” process, working to deliver the program’s “check within an hour” promise. The position offers flexible hours and hourly pay plus a bonus for each vehicle purchased.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Experience and desire to work with technology.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

• Sales or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads through AutoNation and third-party websites, by phone, internet, and walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their vehicles.
• Set appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute the AutoNation We’ll Buy Your Car Same-Day Payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers throughout the day, in person and over the phone.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
• Manage customer expectations and communicate throughout the vehicle-purchasing process.
• Work to deliver the program’s “check within an hour” promise.
• Make vehicle offers using sound judgment, research, and interpersonal skills.
