About The Position

Ultra Maritime is a pioneer in delivering multi-mission solutions that protect and empower naval forces worldwide, with innovations utilized on naval fleets across allied navies. They develop advanced specialist systems, including state-of-the-art sonar, radar, expendables, signature management, and naval power systems, to provide a warfighting edge to 'five-eyes' Defence customers. The VDS Production Team Lead coordinates and directs the daily activities of an assigned production team to maximize productivity while maintaining quality. This role ensures all safety procedures are followed, metrics are met, and involves investigating, troubleshooting, and providing solutions to escalated production problems. The Team Lead is also responsible for training other assembly workers.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role.
  • Typically, High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8+ years of related experience.
  • Soldering training certified.
  • Must be able to gain the appropriate Canadian government Security Clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and directs daily the activities of the assigned production team to maximize productivity while maintaining quality.
  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed and metrics met.
  • Investigates, trouble-shoots and provides solutions to escalated production problems.
  • Provides training for other assembly workers.
  • Assigns work, reviews metrics, resolves issues that are escalated.
  • Operates and maintains stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follows established manufacturing procedures.
  • Follows training and safety requirements and trains Assemblers to use hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units.
  • Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards.
  • May repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels.
  • Keeps daily assembly production records.
  • Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors.
