About The Position

Holder Construction is seeking a BIM/VDC Senior Engineer to join their Virtual Design & Construction team for a project in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. This is a full-time, in-person position. The role involves facilitating problem-solving through technology and collaboration, coordinating workloads, ensuring modeling efforts resolve construction issues, and tracking stakeholder responsibilities. The engineer will identify and resolve coordination conflicts using clash detection in Navisworks, lead clash resolution meetings, and apply modeling best practices and company standards. They will also conduct quality reviews, ensure team compliance with training and lessons learned, deliver VDC services according to company standards, and train/develop team members. The position also requires contributing to VDC goals and company initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of BIM/VDC experience on commercial construction projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Computer Graphics, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling and coordination tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
  • Strong working knowledge of contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules
  • Strong understanding of construction management processes (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other applicable tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Willingness to relocate and travel
  • Strong communication and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate problem-solving using technology and collaboration with internal and external project teams
  • Coordinate your workload and that of others for one or more projects with VDC Manager(s)
  • Ensure modeling efforts and deliverables are completed to resolve construction issues
  • Track responsibilities of all stakeholders and contribute to the VDC coordination schedule
  • Identify and resolve coordination conflicts using clash detection in Navisworks
  • Lead clash resolution and coordination meetings, ensuring all items are completed
  • Apply modeling best practices and company standards to produce accurate models
  • Conduct quality reviews of modeled scope and confirm compliance with contract documents
  • Ensure team applies concepts from training sessions and lessons learned to project coordination
  • Deliver VDC services in accordance with company standards and best practices
  • Train and develop the professional skills of fellow team members
  • Contribute to VDC goals and company initiatives
