The VDC Coordinator will be part of a project team working in a fast-paced environment with project managers, superintendents, and engineers on-site. This role involves collaborating with the VDC Leadership team to build and manage a BIM Execution Plan and VDC implementation strategy. The coordinator will understand owner BIM / Employers Information Requirements (EIR) and use a custom suite of software tools to prepare BIM model-based deliverables. They will have the freedom to develop project-specific workflows utilizing BIM data for various project phases including estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling (4D), coordination, field layout, and facilities management. The role includes developing solutions with project stakeholders by performing model-based design and constructability reviews, clash detection, and visualization. The VDC Coordinator will manage and maintain BIM data generated from various sources throughout design and construction, take ownership of coordination meetings, and generate drawings from the BIM. They will also manage the development of Revit models for COBie data and conduct VR walkthroughs. Collaboration with design and field teams is crucial for tracking progress, contributing to schedules, and identifying potential coordination issues. The VDC Coordinator will act as a subject matter expert for design software and BIM-related issues, facilitate reality capture using LiDAR, Drones, and 360 Photography, and mentor project teams on construction technology. Participation in software testing, R&D, and personal/professional growth is expected, as is contributing to the VDC community and EllisDon's innovation in the construction industry. The role also involves building BIM Execution Plans, developing BIM-specific scope in tender documents, and using 3D modeling skills for architectural, structural, MEP, and construction logistics elements.
