VC Investment Analyst – Fintech
About The Position
Clocktower Ventures, the venture investing arm within Clocktower Group, partners with entrepreneurs who have the vision and drive to innovate across financial services and climate change. They offer an investment exposure from the earliest stages of company formation to late-stage growth underwriting. The firm is seeking an Investment Analyst to join their Santa Monica office. This role is central to the investment team and requires an organized, entrepreneurial mind who wants to be challenged and stretched. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, a "geek" for financial services, and takes pride in delivering excellence.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of work experience from an investment bank, management consulting firm, VC/PE firm, or similar.
- Ability to be highly productive in a very independent and fast-paced environment.
- Significant experience in financial modeling and corporate valuation.
- Ability to analyze trends and company performance beyond financial statements.
- Domain knowledge of the fintech ecosystem and a genuine passion for technology.
- Relentless attention to detail and an unquestioned work ethic.
- Creative, speculative thinking about market and industry evolution.
- Commitment to honesty and accountability to high standards.
- Must be able to work onsite in the Santa Monica office.

Responsibilities
- Source early-stage startups in the climate and fintech sectors by attending conferences and networking with startups and other investors.
- Manage the investment pipeline by systematically tracking companies and the broader climate and fintech ecosystems.
- Assist in evaluating potential transactions by building financial models, analyzing market sizing assumptions, and assessing company performance.
- Support the investment team in deal flow tracking and analysis.
