About The Position

The Vault Supervisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and recommending changes to policies and procedures to ensure the accountability, security, safety, and operation of all currency and coin transiting the branch. This role involves updating processes for effectiveness and control, ensuring vault balancing before shift completion, monitoring workflow, and adjusting staffing. The supervisor will also manage route check-ins/outs, communicate with customers to resolve issues, and collaborate with management on investigations and audits. Additionally, the position serves as a liaison with financial institutions and commercial customers, exercises supervisory authority over staff, and maintains operational responsibilities during management absences. The role requires managing CIT operations and other related duties.

Requirements

  • College degree OR 3 to 5 years background skills in a professional, technical, or specialized business banking function.
  • Experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and recommend changes to policies and procedures for vault accountability, security, safety, and operation.
  • Update processes as needed to ensure effectiveness, control, accountability, and security of cash movement and inventory.
  • Ensure the vault department balances before the end of the shift.
  • Monitor workflow, hours, and adjust staffing to maintain service quality and cover absences.
  • Ensure accurate and timely check-in/out of routes.
  • Communicate with internal, bank, or commercial customers to address and resolve problems, special requests, and discrepancies.
  • Team with management on investigations, facility audits, security tape monitoring, backups, audits, and surveillances.
  • Coordinate with branch management on routing items and routes.
  • Assist in the ongoing maintenance of SOFI, RPM, or other software programs.
  • Ensure accountability and security of all funds transiting the department.
  • Serve as liaison with the Federal Reserve Bank, banks, thrift charters, and commercial customers to identify and resolve problems.
  • Exercise supervisory authority regarding staffing, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, salary increases, terminations, and staff development.
  • Establish and review operating systems and procedures within the branch and dependent procedures outside the department.
  • Analyze complex factors to decide appropriate actions and resolve situations not covered by set policies or procedures.
  • Monitor and control vaulted items such as keys, combinations, personal access lists, and other items.
  • Assume all operational responsibilities during the absence of the Operations/Branch Manager or on an “as needed” basis.
  • Perform and manage CIT operations.
  • Handle other requested items not limited to the above description.
